Guru Chanchal Hari

 

Chanchal received her Bharatanatyam training starting at the tender age of four, under the tutelage of Guru Kalakshetra Vilasini, a Sangeetha Nataka Academy award winner and the formost exponent of the Kalakshetra style of the Dance in Kerala, India. 

Chanchal started her career in Modelling in the year 1997. She has done several modelling assignments since then.

 

It was in 1998 that she was offered a lead role as 'Kunjathol' in the M.T.Vasudevan Nair-Hariharan team project "Ennu Swantham Janakikutty". 

Her character in that movie was well appreciated by everybody.The movie participated in various International film festivals .

Her second movie was  "Ormacheppu" directed by the well known script writer & Director Lohithadas. She played the character of Sameera,the female lead of the movie.

The third movie was a parallel film "Rishivamsham" directed byRajiv Anchal. Her character in this film as 'Radha' had significant semi-classical dance sequences dedicated to Lord Krishna.

 

Chanchal started learning Bharatanatyam at a very young age under the guidance of Guru Smt. Kalakshetra Vilasini. She has given numerous invited performances in India, USA, UK, Europe and the Middle East.

 

Chanchal's performances are well known among audiences across the world for their innovative approach, rhythm and grace. In addition to stage shows, she has been invited to render performances on Doordarshan (India's National Channel) and all leading Malayalam channels (Surya, Asianet, Kairali).

 

Chanchal has also been on the jury of various acting and dance awards, and was on the jury for the Filmfare Awards (Malayalam Category).

 

Chanchal is a familiar face on the small screen as well.  She has hosted popular talk shows, quizzes  and fashion programs  on  the major Malayalam channels.
